My kids at school always seem to go in bursts of nerdiness with Rubix-style puzzle cubes. Back when I was teaching at a high school a few years ago, my students would try to teach me how to complete the 3×3 cube, which I completely failed at. But it was fun, and so when some of my current middle schoolers started showing up to class with cubes, I decided to get my act in gear and join the awesome-ness.

I studied the 3×3 and 2×2 cubes so that I can now solve them! I am not really fast, but I can do it, and it is fun when I confiscate cubes in class and complete them for the kids. Some of them are really impressed! So here is my review:

Tanbi Puzzles Speed Cube

What I like about the cube is that it is sticker-less, so I don’t have to worry about any peeling as I use the cube. It is a good quality cube, and I don’t feel like it would break if I dropped it.

What I don’t like is that it is not as speedy a cube as I would have liked it to be. Sometimes it gets stuck while turning and is not always smooth. It is better than some other cubes I have, but I would not classify it as a “speed cube”.
