Frozen Booty 5k

Have you heard of Moms Run This Town? It is a national women’s running club with a lot of different chapters all over. I bet there is one in your neck of the woods! Anyways, this winter they hosted a virtual race called “Frozen Booty”. My chapter decided to make this an actual event so we could all run together!   The race “headquarters” was at VA Runner. We started and ended our race in the parking lot, and then had our “after-party” in the store. They…

Get LOST in Running – Staff 7k

Saturday morning I got up bright and early to be out and running before I had to go to work.  Madre, Marty, and Diane meet me at our usual running spot and we set out. I wanted to take it slow and easy because I had a half marathon the next day, so Marty and I did 2:1 intervals at a slower pace, average 12:49/mile. I counted this run as Station 7 in the Get Lost in Running Virtual Race Series. If you haven’t checked…

May Get Out & Run Virtual 5k

I went over to Madre’s new neighborhood for our evening run. We started running on the street but ended up running on the golf course path. There are much more opportunities for festive pictures on the golf course! We saw the little building (which is a bathroom), a few bridges, a beautiful sunset, a deer, and Madre rolling down a hill. There were lots of hills, but it felt great to run up them! I ended up running a 5k and counted it towards my US…

April Get Out and Run Virtual 5k

The US Road Running picture for the April Get Out and Run Program is very appropriate. It was pouring when I went to run! So I ended up going to the gym to do my workout. I wore my new American Graffiti SparkleSkirt (which matches my RnR DC shirt perfectly) and hopped on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I walked for the first 2 minutes, and then ran the rest. My first two miles were at a 10mm pace, and then I sped up for the last mile. I…

Boston Marathon World Run Virtual 5k

Monday was the Boston Marathon. Of course I will never be able to BQ and I don’t have enough initiative to raise money for a charity bib, but I wanted to be a part of the excitement and support the event and runners. I signed up for the Boston Marathon World Run and pledged to run a 5k.I walked to the commuter lot and met a fellow MRTT runner, Amanda, and we completed our 5k. She kept me pretty fast, with a 10:44 pace. We ran 2:1…

RnR Las Vegas Kick-off Virtual 5k

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series was having a Las Vegas Kick-off Night Celebration with 5k runs all over the Las Vegas area. They also hosted a virtual option where you could run a 5k wherever you live and get a free t-shirt! So of course I signed up!Maestro and I went off for a night run around the neighborhood (dressed in lots of reflective and light-blinking gear, of course!). Our pace was a bit slow, but we did run 5k the night before, and Maestro was…

We Get Lost In Running! Station 5 – Pearl 23k

Yesterday was my day for a long run. I was up at 5:15 (well, 5:30), and out the door at 6am. I had only slept for 5 hours. My plan was to run from my house to the school where I usually start running, and to get at least 15 miles. As my longest run as of yet was 13.1, I had my work set out for me. I was also wearing my brand new shoes to see how they would work.It was cold and…
