Tamu Tamu Eats & Refreshments
Located in the Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a small counter service called Tamu Tamu Refreshments. Even though I love Tusker House so much, I can’t always eat there because of the price! So one afternoon I was looking for a quick place to eat and discovered Tamu Tamu. I was super excited that they had a vegetarian curry on the menu!
When I was ordering, I asked to see the allergy binder and confirmed that the curry was both gluten-free and vegan if I ordered it without the flatbread (which was not mentioned on the menu – so make sure you always double check!).
The vegetables in this dish include some root vegetables, such as turnip and zucchini, but it also had a lot of peppers and onions that I ended picking out because I don’t like them in big chunks! The dish was ok, not great, just because the flavor was a little bland. I thought it could have used some spice and kick! Regardless, I am always glad to find a quick service in which I am able to find something to eat.
FYI – this is the place to get your Dole Whip (with or without rum)!!!!
