This weekend is the next runDisney race weekend, bringing the Jingle Jungle 5k on Saturday morning and the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Saturday evening.
Since I am running the Glass Slipper Challenge + Princess 5k in February 2016, I am unable to run Wine & Dine this year 🙁
But I had a pretty good experience running these two races last year (even though it poured the entire time of the half marathon!). Here are some highlights to get you excited:
Jingle Jungle 5k
The 5k takes place at Animal Kingdom. There are such festive displays set up before the race – don’t forget to get some pictures!
This is a great time to dress festively for your run! It’s still early in the holiday season – but it is a still fun to be dressed up! I decided to go as Christmas Olaf!
Everyone is in their holiday clothes! On course you might see: Donald, Chip and Dale, Goofy, Rafiki, Timon, Baloo, King Louie, and Pluto. There might also be some other surprises, as well!
Since I was running both races, I definitely took my time during the 5k and stopped for all the character and other photo opps 🙂 For my full Jingle Jungle 5k experience, click here!
Wine & Dine Half Marathon
Like I said before, it pretty much rained this entire race. Because of this, a lot of the characters on course were unable to come out to cheer us on, but I still did manage to get some photos! This course starts at Epcot and ran through Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios.
The absolute best part is running through the Osborne lights. I definitely stopped for a while in Hollywood Studios and enjoyed my time taking pictures. I am especially glad that I did, now, because this year is the last year the lights will be up! I wonder what the course will look like in 2016…..
