Day 2 was our fun day. We started off on a Duck Tour of Philly:
Then we went to Dave and Busters for lunch. We got game gards, and look – I hit the jackpot!
That afternoon we spent some time on South Street. While there, I visited Sweet Freedom Bakery. It is a gluten-free, vegan, refined-sugar free, etc bakery. Doesn’t sound like it would be very good, but it was DELICIOUS! I went a little crazy. Some of the items I tried were: cupcakes (the Neapolitan was the best), cinnamon rolls (to die for), cookies filled with frosting, doughnuts, and breads. I wish there was a place like that near me!
Then, we were walking around and came across a “Magic Garden”. Basically, this artist took a bunch of trash/recycle items, and made a HUGE display. It was really weird, and I don’t get it, but whatever…
That night we had a dinner/dance and awards ceremony. We ended up with three awards! Best Orchestra, Best Instrumental Group, and Best School Music Program! We also ended up getting 1st and 2nd place (I brought 2 orchestras).
Nathan came to visit in time to get the awards:
Day 3
We went home! Back to school the next day. But it was a very fun trip.
