What’s Up Wednesday

This past week brought fun-filled activities! Here is a snapshot of what I did, with many upcoming full posts to come with more details! On Wednesday I hung out with my nephews! We went to TopGolf and had a good time hitting the targets. They were actually pretty good at aiming and it was a fun time! Thursday through Saturday brought along a juice cleanse from South Block Cafe. I will be doing a full write up on my experience soon, along with a giveaway for…

Glowstick 5k

On Saturday night, my niece Ellie and I went to Old Mill Park in Fredericksburg for a Glowstick 5k night race. We decided to be festive and wear tutus. We also stopped at the Dollar Tree and picked up some glow-gear so we would be appropriately glowing. It was a great 5k. It wasn’t too hot and the course was nice. We ran 1 minute/walked 2 minutes and it worked out nicely with a finish time of 45 minutes. A good portion of the race…

RnR Las Vegas Kick-off Virtual 5k

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series was having a Las Vegas Kick-off Night Celebration with 5k runs all over the Las Vegas area. They also hosted a virtual option where you could run a 5k wherever you live and get a free t-shirt! So of course I signed up!Maestro and I went off for a night run around the neighborhood (dressed in lots of reflective and light-blinking gear, of course!). Our pace was a bit slow, but we did run 5k the night before, and Maestro was…

Happy Bands Review & Coupoun

**Disclaimer** HappyBands provided me with free product in exchange for my honest opinions in this review.  These opinions are my own, and I was in no way financially compensated for this review. What a cute Minnie Mouse pattern! I got this adorable HappyBand to try out! Not only is it stylish and well-made, it was super comfortable. I tried it out on a 5-mile run and it did not slip one bit! Normally I have to adjust headbands because they slowly creep up the back of your head, but…

DC Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon

This past weekend was the DC Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon. Heidi came up from Florida to run the race with me! On Friday after work, I drove to DC to visit the expo at the DC Armory. The expo was pretty exciting, and had a lot of interesting booths, though it’s hard not  to compare everything to the runDisney expos…I walked around, got some free samples, and took some pictures with the props. I was done in about an hour, and then I drove…

Share the Love 14k

This past Sunday was the Share the Love 14k, rescheduled from February when we had a lot of snow. It was a cool and sunny morning, but the wind was crazy! Brr! The last of the snow had melted, so the trail was nice and muddy. There were parts of the trail that you HAD to walk, or you would slip and slide and, knowing me, fall.I kept an under 12 minute pace for the race, and used 2 minute/:30 sec intervals. I did pretty…

Have a Heart for Hoffman-Boston 5k

I ran this race on Saturday in Arlington, VA, on a part of the W&O Canal Path. It was a smaller race, benefiting Hoffman-Boston Elementary School. I got to the park just in time to get a picture with Ronald McDonald! I love when there are characters at races!!!! He was very excited to see my outfit. We match! When the race started, it was pretty cold, and my hands were frozen for the first mile. After that, the sun was shining and I warmed…

Saturday Evening Workout

Saturday evening Madre, Marty, and I went to the Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center for our workout. We went in the pool and I ended up swimming 30 lengths of the pool (750 meters). It took about 25 minutes but I was going at a relaxing speed. After some time in the hot tub, we headed to the indoor track. 14 laps equaled one mile,  and I did 28 laps in 24 minutes.  It was a very small track and was easy to get dizzy. It…
