I had won a free registration to the Fit Foodie Boot Camp at the Mosaic District in Fairfax, VA. I have never really done boot camp before, so I was excited and a little nervous to try it out.

I got there a bit early and figured out where to go. The boot camp was to take place at the top of a parking garage. Below you can see the view that we had.

There were lots of different circuit activities that were set up for us to do. We had to find a partner with whom we would travel around with. Before we started the circuit, we had to do our warm-up with consisted of various types of jogging and racing around. I was pretty worn out after just the warm-up! Then we began our circuits. There were such things as bicep curls, wall sits, ladder jumps, jump roping, high jumps, kettle ball throws, sit ups, hurdle jumps, and more. We did the circuit twice, with some suicide running in between.

It was a great workout and I was definitely sore the next day. I don’t know if it is something that I will make a part of my regular routine though because I am pretty lazy. When I started to get tired, I stopped pushing myself to work as hard as I could, which I think defeats the purpose. But it was a good time, and I am glad that I went.

After the boot camp, I had a little time to walk around the farmer’s market. I found some fried plantains that I could eat. It came with some Oh Mercy Hot Sauce that was really hot, but tasted especially good with the plantains.
