On Saturday was my schools Fall Frolic 5k. The race didn’t start until 9am, but I got to my school by 8am to wait for my parents, brother, and his family. It was a brisk morning, but quickly warmed up to be a perfect fall running day.I saw many of my students either running or volunteering and they all loved my tutu. It is always fun to run wearing a festive outfit.

The race was held at Silver Lake Park. Even though it is right behind my school, I had never seen it. It was a beautiful place! I thought that I had taken a picture of the lake, but I guess it didn’t actually save to my phone for some reason.

Abi decided that she wanted to run with me and we started out going pretty well. As we got past the first mile though, there was a lot more walking (err…dragging!) that was happening.

The course was pretty good with not too many hills, and only a little mud. It was very pretty. We finished with a decent time of 39 minutes and got our water and bananas. We waited around for the raffle to see if we won anything (yay $10 to The Running Store, which I had already spent $70 at the day before!) and then went to IHOP for breakfast. (Well, I brought Qdoba to IHOP).

It was a great race and a fun time running with family.
