Vegan & Gluten-free in Washington, D.C. – Rise Gluten Free Bakery

This week I had a chance to go check out the soon-to-open Rise Bakery in Adams Morgan, Washington, DC. This bakery is 100% Gluten-free and will also have vegan offerings! I was able to taste some delicious samples of some of the products that will be offered. Above is some melt-in-your-mouth cake. I’ve already decided that this is where I want to get my birthday cake from this year! There were some still-warm cookies that tasted AMAZING! I know I am so far removed from…

Vegan & Gluten-free at Disney’s Magic Kingdom – Be Our Guest Restaurant

**This dining experience took place in January 2014** My Virginia runner-friend, Leanne made reservations for Be Our Guest for the night after the 5k. After going on the Haunted Mansion and It’s a Small World, we met up and got to check out this new restaurant. The rooms are pretty over the top, with awesome chandeliers and details. We sat in the main dining room, but also got to check out the other rooms. The Enchanted Rose Gluten-free rolls with Earth Balance. These were DELICIOUS.…

Vegan & Gluten-free at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – Whispering Canyon Cafe

*This dining experience took place in March 2013* Nathan and I decided to try out the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge. We went for lunch and were pleasantly surprised at the gluten-free, vegan option in this primarily-meat establishment. We had the Red Quinoa cakes, which were pretty tasty and different from other options around property. We also ordered all-you-can-drink soy milkshakes. Nathan was more than a little bit excited about this! This was a pleasant dining experience, and I would like to eat…

Vegan & Gluten-free at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant

*This dining experience took place in March 2013* The Sci-Fi Drive in as at Hollywood Studios. I was excited to try this restaurant because it seemed like a cool concept. When we were seated, we were in the back of the restaurant in a little car booth. It was very crowded with the two of us sitting there and we kept bumping elbows. It was very dark, to simulate a real drive-in, and it was hard to read the menu. The clips that they were…

Vegan & Gluten-free at Disney’s Grand Floridian – 1900 Park Fare

Let me tell you – Chef TJ is WONDERFUL!!!!! We went to 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian our Christmas Celebration buffet. Chef TJ took us around and told us what we could eat that is gluten-free and vegan. This is what we could eat off of the buffet: Chef TJ then brought us out a multi-course, specially prepared meal. Here was our appetizer: a trio of salads. Our main course was absolutely delicious. It was chunks of tofu (that I let Nathan…

*This dining experience took place in December 2012*  We ate at Coral Reef as part of the Candlelight Processional Package. Gluten-free at Disney’s Epcot – Corral Reef Restaurant

*This dining experience took place in August 2012* For lunch one day we went to the Coral Reef restaurant at Epcot. I had made reservations here when I was still eating meat (but had since gone vegan) and unfortunately the one vegetarian dish was not able to be made gluten free, so I had to get fish. Blech. Mahi-Mahi with green beans. It was good, for being meat, I guess… If you eat fish, I would definitely recommend this place as there were quite a…
