Join me at the D.C. Green Festival Expo!

The Washington, D.C. Green Festival Expo is taking place the weekend of May 13-14, 2017! This festival is America’s largest and longest-running sustainability and green living event. It offers something for everyone, including a selection of products and services to work green, play green and live green from food, fashion and health to energy, construction and design. There will be vegan (yay!), vegetarian, organic foods; hands-on demos; educational activities; and inspirational speakers.

Vegan & Gluten-free in Virginia – Pio Pio Peruvian

As a gluten-free vegan, I am always on the lookout for new places to eat. I can’t just go to the everyday “American” restaurant and find a full meal that isn’t a puny, salad with barely anything on it. Because of this, I tend to gravitate towards more international restaurants such as Indian, Thai, Ethiopian, and Mexican. I was looking for a new restaurant option and became aware of Pio Pio Peruvian in Great Falls, VA.

Vegan & Gluten-free at Chef Mickey’s – Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Out of all the times I have been to Disney World, I hadn’t eaten at the acclaimed Chef Mickey’s. So, last trip we found a reservation for breakfast and went to see our favorite mouse!

Chef Mickey’s is located inside the Contemporary Resort near the Magic Kingdom. We took a bus from our resort to MK and then walked over to the Contemporary.

Vegan & Gluten-free at Disney World’s Rose & Crown

There aren’t that many places in Epcot that I like to eat. Most of the places don’t cater too well to the vegan, gluten-free lifestyle in an affordable way. Our favorite place to eat is Tutto Italia, but there were no walk-up reservations available for the day that we met up with friends.
