5 Reasons to Run the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon

I’m excited to be an official blogger for the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon! I ran the half marathon in 2016 and thought the race was awesome! This year I will be walking the 10k (I was originally going to tackle the full marathon, but I will have just had my first child). The Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Double Marathon, Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, and 1-miler will be taking place on April 22, 2017 in Roanoke, Virginia. It is looking to be fun and challenging day!

DCRRC Women’s Distance Festival 5K and Run After the Women 5K

The first race in the DC Road Runners 2016 Bunion Derby races was the Women’s Distance Festival 5K and Run After the Women 5K. The Women’s Distance Festival race was for women only and started at 7:00pm at Bluemont Park in Arlington, VA. The Run after the Women race was for all the men. They started 15 minutes after us.

2016 Cherry Blossom 10-Miler Race Recap

The Cherry Blossom 10-miler is an annual race that takes place in Washington, D.C. in early April. If you are lucky, it coincides with the peak bloom of the beautiful Cherry Blossoms that line the water basin and other areas around town. Unfortunately, we had strange weather this year and peak bloom was about a week or so earlier than the race. My racing season is now in full swing! Two weeks ago I ran the Blue Ridge Half Marathon, and this past weekend was Bishop Event’s¬†CroppMetcalfe’s Bug Run 5k in Lorton, VA. Location:¬†Pohick Bay Park in Lorton, VA. Previous races run here include 5k at the Bay. Weather: Rainy. It had been raining all night long and continued all morning.
