I had to take a long hiatus on my running due to my pregnancy. I did not have the energy to run while pregnant, so it has been about six months since I’ve been really active. That is about to change, though, because I have a lot of upcoming races to prepare for!

Race Recap: CroppMetcalfe’s Bug Run 5k

My racing season is now in full swing! Two weeks ago I ran the Blue Ridge Half Marathon, and this past weekend was Bishop Event’s CroppMetcalfe’s Bug Run 5k in Lorton, VA. Location: Pohick Bay Park in Lorton, VA. Previous races run here include 5k at the Bay. Weather: Rainy. It had been raining all night long and continued all morning. New Year’s Day 5k

The end of my 2015 racing season (and technically the beginning of my 2016 one) was with Bishop’s Events New Year’s Day 5k in Fredericksburg, VA. This race wasn’t too early in the morning, so I had no problem dragging my but out of bed for the 12pm race. Toys for Tots 5k

My last race of 2015 was the Toys for Tots 5k put on by Bishop’s Events. It was a cold and brisk morning, but Maestro and I headed out the door and drove down to Old Mill Park in Fredericksburg, VA for the 5k. I decided that we would be festive, so I Maestro was dressed up as Santa and I was his Christmas Elf! Leesburg 10k

The Leesburg 10k & 5k on October 4th was put on by Bishop’s Events and benefited the Wounded Warrior Project. Packet pick-up was easy and took place before the race. I got there a few minutes prior to the race start at 8am and still have plenty of time to get ready since it was a smaller-sized race. And man, it was a freezing morning!
