Toys for Tots 5k

My last race of 2015 was the Toys for Tots 5k put on by Bishop’s Events. It was a cold and brisk morning, but Maestro and I headed out the door and drove down to Old Mill Park in Fredericksburg, VA for the 5k. I decided that we would be festive, so I Maestro was dressed up as Santa and I was his Christmas Elf! Everyone certainly had a big smile when they saw us.  The race runs on the bike path near the river, so…

Dopey Challenge 2014

Dopey Challenge 2014 Well, Disney World’s Marathon Weekend is coming up this  week, so I thought I would do a look back at my experience from 2014 from running the Dopey Challenge. Four days of running a total of 48.6 miles totally kicked my butt, but I had an awesome experience and am a little sad not to be participating this year. I love seeing everyone’s costume choices and really hope everyone has a great time!! I plan on registering for 2017…need to save my pennies! The Expo…

A look back at the 2014 Jingle Jungle 5k / Wine & Dine Half Marathon

This weekend is the next runDisney race weekend, bringing the Jingle Jungle 5k on Saturday morning and the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Saturday evening. Since I am running the Glass Slipper Challenge + Princess 5k in February 2016, I am unable to run Wine & Dine this year 🙁 But I had a pretty good experience running these two races last year (even though it poured the entire time of the half marathon!). Here are some highlights to get you excited: Jingle Jungle 5k…

Glowstick 5k at Old Mill Park

I always love evening races, especially when they are somewhere scenic. Bishop’s Events has quite a few evening races at Old Mill Park in Fredericksburg, VA, and Maestro and I love to go and run! Glowstick 5k It was  a good evening for a run. Not to hot (just a little humid), but the sky was clear and I was excited to watch the sun set over the river. The race started at 6:45pm while it was still light out, but the sky was beginning…

Starlight 5k

Starlight 5k Maestro and I ran the Bishop’s Events Starlight 5k at Prince William Forest Park. The race started at 6:15 and was a trail run with some hilly sections. We’ve done this course before so we knew what to expect, but it still can get a bit hard with all the ups and downs! Maestro was a champ even though it got to be a little humid. We ended up finishing at 46:33, with a pace of 14:59. To see other Bishop’s Events races, check…

Looking for a Halloween 5k?

I know Halloween seems like a far off world, but really, it is less than two months away! I’m not sure that I am ready for autumn and all that it entails (even though it is my favorite season with the cooler air and leaves changing color), but the excitement of fun fall activities is helping to soften the blow! Ghost 5k – The Barn @ One Loudoun When? Where? This year will bring the 6th Ghost, Goblins & Ghouls Spooktacular 5k & Scarecrow Sprint Fun Run at The Barn @…

2015 Summer Glowstick 5k

Summer Glowstick 5k I always like evening/night runs. You don’t have to get up early, it is generally cooler, and you have the chance of an amazing sunset. Bishop’s Events holds a glowstick runs a few times a year and they are always really fun. These evening races generally take place at Old Mill Park in Fredericksburg, on a paved bike path that runs right next to the river. There is an awesome view of the water and I caught the sunset at the turn-around point! Maestro…
